What is a mixed-epoch tail?
This is a writing-room-tail doc.html whose articles carry both witness epochs (§6.7): turns 1–2 are consecrated (SHA-256, sealed); turns 3–4 are writing-room (live UTC-timestamp).
A conforming reader classifies each witness by form alone and reports the scoped verdict PASS (verified=m, ordinal=k) — verified counts recomputed consecrated bytes, ordinal counts grammar-valid writing-room witnesses. The two counts are asserted separately, never blended into one number.
What is a mixed-epoch tail?
A tail where the earlier turns are consecrated (SHA-256, sealed for all time) and the later, still-live turns carry writing-room timestamps. Both registers are verified: consecrated turns recompute, writing-room turns are grammar-and-order valid.
What does the verdict look like?
The verdict states its scope explicitly: PASS (verified=2, ordinal=2) — two recomputed consecrated bytes, two grammar-valid ordinal witnesses. The two registers are never folded into one undifferentiated count.
